Indian Film Song Lyrics

I cannot resist Graphjam so here we are. Indian Film song lyrics explained with simple graphs. I promise, this will be the second last time I will be “inspired” (like Anu Malik) to remix a popular Internet meme for desi purposes.

First we explore the Hindi Film Industry, or as Cineblitz chooses to acronymize, HiFI

Soopper doopper post – absolutely fantastic! I have also started graphjamming now thanks to you, but your creativity is out of the world.
the last 2 posts from you (this and swamijis & science) is like 2 consecutive centuries – one in test match and then in T20. Rajesh Khanna, Govinda, 1942 and Thaliavar’s oru koodai sunlight … ellamey, only Blogosphere mannan, KA can create!

  7. 2009 March 16

    awesomely innovative!

  8. 2009 March 16

Haha. The dilemma for getting impregnated was funny.

  9. 2009 March 16

Haha Superb. Please, let this not be your last one on graphjam.

  10. 2009 March 16

  16. 2009 March 16

hey, apparently nakka mukka doesnt mean tongue and nose…. it’s Onomatopoeia apparently – the sound made by the drum or something. just like dandanaka or jigu jickan.

  17. 2009 March 16

Brilliance! This graphjam is really cool. I feel like some watcher of the skies when a new planet swims into his ken, or Cortez, when he, with eagle eyes, stared at his 19″ LCD monitor.

Each one is a masterpiece, but the “locked in the room” gets my Oscar

I loved the April Madathil, So gaya (nice touch with “all destinations”) and Superstar was lovely.

    Which song was Heisenberg’s?

      It’s the slightly location-confused

      Nazar ke saamne,
      Jigar ke paas,
      koi rehtha hai,

        :) good one ..

Althought doesn’t jigar mean gut? Even if it does, I think your near-the-liver has it covered.

Ashok: Actually, Jigar does literally mean “liver”. In Urdu, the liver is the metaphorical gut/heart etc

  26. 2009 March 16

  32. 2009 March 16

    Hi Ashok,

ROTFL was just an acronym for a phrase up until now! Oh my God!! How do you even think up such things!

Unfortunately, I’m not in touch with Tamil songs so that was pretty much Greek & Latin; The Hindi songs were superb, though.

PS: Which one was “Who should Govinda give his heart to?”

  33. 2009 March 16

Pure brilliance!!! More brilliant than Chacha Chowdhary!

  34. 2009 March 16

Friends are fwding these links to us and they are amused it seems to see your work.. but i dont think something is really great to be appreciated.. its mere a time pass for you guys and waste of time for guys like us.. Instead of speding your valuable time on the net and creating blogs do some stuff which will be useful for your, your family, your state, your country…

My intention was not to blame on you guys but from my point of view surffing net is a mere time pass… I dont want to comment more on this.. i expressed my personal views.. its upto the admin to retain this comment in this page or delete it..

hi, it is nice to go through ur blog…and it is well informative too…by the way why don’t you start a blog in your own mother tongue…? as i know it is not a big task….

recently i was searching for the user friendly Indian language typing tool and found .. ” quillpad”. heard that it is much more superior than the Google’s indic transliteration…!? It gives you the option of Rich Text as well as 9 Indian languages…whereas Google is providing only 5 languages and no Rich text option…

It is indeed a pleasure as well as proud moment to express our views in our own mother tongue…and it is our duty too….. so, save, protect, popularize and communicate in our own mother tongue….

    try this, http://www.quillpad.in

    • 2009 March 25

Ah yes. Tumblr does not have comments. I wrote that after being threatened with a lawsuit by a guy who stole content from my blog and posted it without attribution. My crime was asking him politely to attribute now that he knows the original author. His response was to claim that my emails/post comments were “defamation” and therefore grounds for a lawsuit.

  101. 2009 March 24

    @N : magnificent word-play !!
KA’s posts bring out the best creative vein in his readers — limmericks, poems, mathematical humorous prose, you-name-it .i could make a good post, article, or book by collecting my comments in KA’s and others’s blogs !! there is even a blog calssifying commentors, but i forget the name of my class .

One small correction, though; For the “Things Govinda does not care about”, it is not “your grandmother’s death” (that is actually Karisma’s line) it should actually be “You got a chilli”*
