Microhistorical Megapistha

I am announcing the results of the Microhistory contest. The final judgement was arrived at using an industry standard jilpa methodology called the scatter map. The nomenclature, I believe, has origins in the nature of the brains that came up with this diagram.

The submissions were categorized into 4 taxonomically robust categories and were plotted. The Tamil challenged populace should refer to The Reference with a Capital R to clarify technical terms used in the map. Click here for a larger version of the scatter map. I used gliffy to draw this.

Once this was done, I had a conference with Chennai’s most discerning citizens – the crows that come to food-test the daily fare at home. And after some lengthy deliberations, they have made their choice.

    You’ve made me forget what scattermaps were used for. Or did I know to begin with?

    I must be missing something or perhaps this explains why i didn’t pass math and reading comprehension. Didn’t you say exactly 10 words? I count 12 in Rambodoc’s entry. Or may be this, really was a trick question in math :) ?

    I had thought of posting “You Idiot! All of our historical records were in Jerusalem!”. Felt it was weak and cheezy, not to the point. Besides, I liked Priya’s 2nd one so much that felt nothing better could be said.

    @Arun,
    I could escape by saying that I was counting in Base 12, so 10 is actually 12 in decimal, but that would be cheesier. Honest mistake. But I just liked the underlying message of the state (or authority) withering away as knowledge is democratized by google :)

    Priya’s 2nd one was nice too.
